About the TOEFL Test
The TOEFL test evaluates the English proficiency of people who speak English as a second language. TOEFL test scores are required for admission to 2,400 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The TOEFL test is also used by colleges and universities in other countries. Government agencies use TOEFL scores to evaluate English language proficiency.
Taking the TOEFL Test in Canada
TOEFL Computer-based Test (CBT) is no longer used in Canada. Since October 2005, the TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) has been in use. The iBT was introduced to other countries throughout 2006, and is now available at English schools. The iBT tests all four language skills that are important for effective communication: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The curriculum of our TOEFL Preparation Program has been adapted to help you prepare for either the Computer-based Test or the Internet-based Test.
TOEFL Scores
Some students think it is very difficult to achieve a TOEFL score that is high enough for admission to a good university or college. Actually, almost any good student can achieve an acceptable TOEFL score, with the help of a good test preparation course.
