English Only Policy
About Our English Only PolicyAt Vancouver English Centre, we believe that it is important for our students to speak English at all times while studying at our school. Being immersed in an English-speaking environment gives students the opportunity to improve their English skills. This is why we actively enforce an "English Only Policy" on our campus. We reward students who observe our English Only PolicyIf a staff member hears a VEC student speaking English outside of class time, they will give the student a Green Ticket. The student should write their name and student number on the Green Ticket and should put it in the prize draw box located in the VEC Directors of Studies office. Tickets will be drawn regularly (like a lottery) and the winning students will receive rewards for speaking English. Enforcing the VEC English Only PolicyIf a staff member hears a VEC Student speaking any language other than English, they will ask the student for their name and student number, and write it down on a Yellow Ticket, and give the Yellow Ticket to the VEC Directors of Studies.
