Pioneer Square

Pioneer Square was the home of the original "Skid Road". It was called Skid Road because logs were skidded down Yesler Way to a steam-powered mill by the water. Although the logging activity has long since ceased, the red brick buildings of Pioneer Square still add charm to Seattle's oldest and most historic neighborhood.
