About the TOEFL Test in Vancouver Canada

The TOEFL Test is used to evaluate the English proficiency of people who speak English as a second language. In 1997-98, almost one million people registered to take the TOEFL Test. This makes the TOEFL Test the most internationally recognized and desired English language test in the world.

TOEFL Test scores are required for admission to more than 2,500 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The TOEFL test is also used by colleges and universities in other countries where English is the language of instruction. Government agencies, scholarship programs, and certification agencies also use TOEFL Test scores to evaluate English language proficiency.

About the TOEFL Test Preparation Program at VEC

Vancouver English Centre has a sophisticated TOEFL Test Preparation Program. It helps international students and professionals to enter the university system in Canada or in the United States.

At VEC, we prepare students for the TOEFL Test quickly and efficiently. Our well-equipped computer labs help students become familiar with computer-based TOEFL Testing, to ensure that they are completely prepared to take the TOEFL Test on a computer.

Our Resource Development Team constantly prepares and purchases new resources, to ensure that our teachers and students have the latest TOEFL Test preparation software and textbooks. VEC also offers various other English language courses to improve our students' general English language skills.

The Vancouver English Centre TOEFL Test Preparation Program includes four levels. New students are placed in an appropriate level when they begin. Level adjustments are made every four weeks. Part-time students may join the TOEFL Tests Preparation Program in either the morning or the afternoon. Most TOEFL students, however, are in full-time programs. Students may study as many weeks as they like. TOEFL Test preparation courses include: Listening Comprehension, Structure, Reading Comprehension, and Writing.
