As part of our ongoing effort to provide the best and most innovative ESL services, VEC is offering free web space to it's students!
Using our new VEC StudentWeb Wizard, you can create and manage your own web site, without needing to know HTML or deal with FTP or other technical things. It's easy!

Who Can Get a Free VEC Web Site?
- Any Student currently enrolled at VEC in Vancouver.
- Past Students whose previous VEC Student Number can be verified.
VEC StudentWeb is intended for use by past or current VEC
students only. All StudentWeb applications are verified in our
student database by a live staff member.
What Can I Do With My VEC Web Site?
- Publish and share your stories or photos of your experiences.
- Use it as a Web Log - a daily journal.
Is it hard to use? What if I don't know much about the web?
The StudentWeb Wizard lets you use as much or as little HTML as you wish. You can create a web page just by filling in the text you want to use, without any HTML if you wish.
The StudentWeb Wizard also provides some tips on using common HTML tags. VEC's Webmaster also will provide some StudentWeb and HTML tutorials on his example StudentWeb site at http://www.vec.ca/studentweb/777/
Rules of Use
To use a VEC Student Web Site, you must observe the following rules:
- For use by VEC Students only. You must provide us with a valid VEC student number which can be verified in our student database.
- The VEC StudentWeb is an "English Only Zone", just like our campus facilities! Please publish your web pages in English. Other languages (which use different encoding) may not display properly on StudentWeb.
- Pages must not contain or link to materials promoting violence, pornography, hatred or discrimination of any kind. VEC reserves the right to filter out any objectionable content.
- VEC StudentWeb accounts that are unused for up to six months may be permanently removed at the discretion of VEC or it's staff.
- VEC does not provide any web site backup service.
- VEC cannot guarantee that your web site will always be available on the web. We are not an Internet Service Provider. You VEC Student Web Site may sometimes be affected by problems with our web server or problems with the Internet.
- VEC is providing this service for free to eligible users with no warranties or guarantees.
- VEC reserves the right to modify or discontinue this service at any time for any reason.
- VEC reserves the right to remove user accounts for any breach of these conditions.
- The StudentWeb Wizard (web page editor) works best in Microsoft Internet Explorer. Please use Internet Explorer when editing your StudentWeb pages.
How do I get a free StudentWeb site?
Getting a free VEC StudentWeb web site is easy, using our simple online StudentWeb Application Form. It takes only a minute to apply.
Note: A valid (past or present) VEC student number is required to get a StudentWeb account. If you are, or have ever been a VEC student, and we can find your VEC student number in our database, we will create a StudentWeb account for you. All StudentWeb applications are verified in our student database by a live staff member.
