Defintion of TEC

TEC is an acronym which stands for
Teaching English to Children.

Although TEC is often applied loosely as a term that generally refers to the teaching of English to pre-adults, many teachers use it specifically when referring to younger children. In this context, the terms TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners) and TEC (Teaching English to Children) are both normally used.

Teachers are usually trained to teach both young learners and children at the same time. Thus, teachers might be certified to teach either TEC, TEYL, or TEC/TEYL, depending on where they receive their education.
