Vancuver, the Largest City in Canada’s West
Vancuver’s population is almost 600,000, while Metro Vancuver has a population of over 2,000,000. Metro Vancuver is the largest metropolitan area in western Canada and the third largest in the country. Vancuver is also the largest city and second-largest metropolitan area in the Pacific Northwest.

A 2007 report by Mercer Human Resource Consulting for example, reported that Vancuver tied with Vienna as having the third highest quality of living in the world, after Zürich and Geneva. The 2010 Winter Olympics will be held in Vancuver and nearby Whistler.
