48-week Business Internship Program

Study: 15-Feb-10 – 30-Jul-10

Internship: 27-Sep-10 – 11-Mar-11

Professional Internship in Travel and Tourism

For five months I worked at a popular tour company that has a reputation for its wonderful tour programs through British Columbia and Alberta. I gained a lot of experience in the marketing area. Honestly, before I worked there, I, as a new graduate, had never worked in a formal office position. My sponsor company gave me an opportunity to learn how to work professionally. I really appreciated this chance.

During the precious five months, I enjoyed working in a Canadian business environment and with Canadian colleagues. They taught me many things in the sales and marketing area. I do like their work style. All of my supervisors and colleagues are outgoing, friendly, helpful, and co-operative. They always cheered me up when I was discouraged.

My duties were:

  • Operation Duties: Pre and post tour preparation, destination research, payment and waiver follow-up, creating list, basic accounting.
  • Sales & Marketing Duties: Selling tours to customers in person, taking payments, and providing general customer service.
  • Assisted the tour guides on various tours around British Columbia and Alberta.

Thank you, VEC and thank to my sponsor company for this life-time experience.
