This program is suitable for all students who want to develop their academic English abilities. Improve your listening, writing and test preparation skills by earning an Academic Preparation Diploma.

Highlights of the Academic Preparation Diploma

While earning an Academic Preparation Diploma, you will be able to take the individual courses that complement your personal needs. You can choose courses that will help you prepare for tests. Other courses will help you complete assignments and interact in class. Whether you want to focus on grammar, writing, listening, pronunciation, TOEFL, or IELTS, you can complete suitable courses while you work toward your diploma.

Academic Preparation Diploma Requirements

It is possible to earn an Academic Preparation Diploma in as little as 12 weeks. To meet the requirements, you must complete three four-week morning courses and three four-week afternoon courses. Standard minimum grades and attendance requirements must be maintained for each course.


Course Schedule

  • Each of the courses is four weeks.
  • These courses are suitable for students in either Intensive or Super-Intensive schedules.
  • All 12 courses cannot be completed in less than 12 weeks.
  • Required Courses

    • Level 6B Grammar, or higher, grammar level assessment
    • Advanced Writing (afternoon course)

    Course Limitations

    A maximum of one of each of the following classes can be used as credit toward a diploma:

    • Grammar (morning course)
    • Communication (afternoon course)
    • Pronunciation (afternoon course)

    Course Choices

    You may choose from the courses in the table below. To earn an Academic Preparation Diploma, you will need three morning classes and three afternoon classes. More advanced students make substitute Grammar 6B with a higher level Grammar course.

    *Advanced Writing (WRIT 3)

    *Advanced Writing is a required course. In addition, all students must be assessed at Level 6B, or higher, at the time the program is completed in order to receive an Academic Preparation Diploma.
