Sulphur Mountain Gondola
To enjoy the breathtaking panoramas of the Banff townsite and Bow Valley, one must go
atop the Sulphur Mountain. An 8-minute Gondola ride will give you a 360 panoramic
view of the Bow Valley and the Rocky Mountains.
Why not hike? Its more rewarding and adventurous! The trail starts from Sulfur
Mountain Hot Springs. It is a relatively easy hike (approximately 1.5 hours)
to the top of the mountain. From the viewing platforms enjoy the gap cut by
Bow River between Tunnel Mountain and Mount Rundle. Enjoy the Sundance Range,
distinguished by the many bowl-shaped cirques caved into its upper slopes by
the action of alpine glaciers during past ice ages.
Sulphur Mountain is a favorite haunt of Bighorn Sheep. As result of being fed by humans they become tolerant of the human presence. Please do not feed them.
