Teaching TermsThe duration of teaching contracts can vary from six or a year, depending on your preference. Many schools prefer a year contract with teachers but some understand when the teacher wants to "try it out" first.Chinese Visa ExpenseIt usually costs approximately US$50 to obtain a visa to enter China. Some schools will reimburse this expense, when you submit the receipt after you arrive. Some schools will also reimburse any fees directly related to vaccines and immunizations required prior to entering China. School also sometimes will provide medical insurance. These expenses should all be discussed and confirmed before you accept a position.
Accommodation in ChinaHousing is often provided to all teachers, free of charge, by the school. Most teachers live in apartments. As a minimum, each teacher should ask for the following features:

Teaching SalaryMany teachers receive a monthly salary of 3,000RMB to 7,000RMB. Salaries and benefits, vary considerably.Working Hours and HolidaysTypically, teachers work 5-6 days a week (depending on the season) with a maximum of 35 hours per week. The average number of work hours per week is approximately 30. Work hours often include school-related functions, such as demo classes and other promotional events. Although all traditional holidays are usually given, they may be moved to different days depending on class times. In addition, a one-week unpaid holiday is often given after six months. Unpaid time off can often be arranged, depending on teacher demand..Living Expenses in ChinaMost food and consumer items are relatively inexpensive. The average teacher can comfortably live on 2000RMB or 3000RMB a month.
