Student Testimony

Hello future students,

I'm Kleber Yamamuro from Brazil; I came to Canada to learn English. I chose the Business Internship Program (Paid Internship) because I want to practice more English conversation and learn about living with Canadian people (different culture). I will be in Canmore about 6 months, then I return to my country, Brazil, and I'm so happy about my English and the experiences acquired here, a as well as all the new friends I have met during my time here. I'm working at the Falcon Crest Lodge where I have learned a lot of things. My jobs are Horseman and Housekeeping, which is hard work but very nice! Nobody said this was going to be easy, sometimes you have a difficult day but you need think why you are here and the objective and results needed to make this opportunity the best it can be for you and then never give up! For sure I'm a different person now than when I arrived in Canmore! This program is a good challenge. When I tarted the English courses, I couldn't say one word and now I'm living alone where nobody speaks Portuguese (my first language) and I am working in an English speaking environment and have Canadian and International friends. This is unbelievable! The first three months were very important for me. At Vancouver English Centre all the administration staff and professors are fabulous, they taught me the things most important in grammar and conversation for me to live by and make use of for the rest of my life. The first real challenge was the interview for the job because it done by telephone! But was not difficult because I was prepared for the interview and had practiced my answers in advance.

My English grammar was not at a high level, but I improved my level by studying for 3 months. I started in the level 1B and progressed to the level to do the Live and Work in Banff BINT! Believe me when I say nothing is impossible!

Thank you so much Vancouver English Centre! You are the Best!

Kleber Yamamuro.

My name is Mariana, and I am from Brazil.

I have been in Canada to learn English and to work in the Banff BINT Program. In this program you either go to Banff, Jasper or Canmore, Alberta to work. I studied in Vancouver English Center, a wonderful school with great teachers, who were always there to help me out. And after 3 months I was accepted for a position in a hotel in another city. The name of the city is Canmore, Alberta, a resort destination in Canada.

I accepted this challenge and went to Alberta. I was going to another province where I didn't know anyone and I was a little scared. In Canmore I met many new friends and co-workers. The results were wonderful, I learned much more English because I lived with Canadian people, and I learned the culture and the Canadian lifestyle. The city was wonderful and it looks like paradise in a painting. For me it was a great experience.

I am very happy and have to say thank you for a great school, always next to me and thanks for Wendy, because she always helped me a lot.

Thanks for everything!!
