CHILDCARE ASSISTANT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

MTI Community College specializes in teaching the Reggio Emilia approach to childcare. The Reggio Emilia approach is based on following the children’s interests, involving them in hands-on, multi-sensory activities and active exploration.

Course Description

This Certificate program is designed for those who wish to work in childcare settings as unlicensed assistants. After you graduate with a Childcare Assistant Certificate you can work in childcare settings for 3- to 5-year olds. The courses in this program are transferable to MTI’s Ministry approved Early Childhood Care & Education Certificate Program.

Pre-requisites

• Certificate of good health
• Successful completion of a criminal records check - $20 fee Victoria Ministry of Attorney General

Certificate Requirements

• Overall average of 60% or better
• Must pass every course in the program by the minimum required mark of 60%
